Job summary

BPR Consulting Group is seeking an organized Development Engineering Coordinator / Permit Processing Specialist to support municipal and public agency clients in California. The role involves permit processing, project coordination, plan routing, closeout, and warranty tracking, coordinating with engineers, inspectors, and developers.

The candidate should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
• 1+ years of development/municipal engineering experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with California development engineering practices.
• Ability to read civil plans and construction documents.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; willingness to learn PM systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare permit documents, bond forms, cost estimates, and public improvement agreements.
• Process and track grading and encroachment permits; verify licenses and certificates.
• Coordinate permit routing with engineering staff and inspectors and communicate status to Building Department.
• Track warranties, closeout, and prepare related documents and CAD files.
• Maintain project records, CAD files, and document control.
