Job summary

GE HealthCare is seeking an engineer to develop, plan, and provide technical support for introducing new MRI magnet assembly processes and technologies. You will design and implement improvements to existing products to enhance performance, reliability, or reduce cost, and interface with suppliers to meet program goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college/university.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as heavy equipment manufacturing, assembly technology, materials technology.
  • Hands-on hardware experience with mechanical or electrical assemblies and tooling.
  • Experience specifying large-scale tooling, or tooling design.
  • Understanding of cryogenic, pressure, or vacuum vessel fabrication and design.
  • Capability to generate innovative concepts.
  • Leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide creative solutions to unstructured product and system design issues from both factory and field.
  • Evaluates new developments in assembly, welding, brazing, pressure vessels, vacuum chambers, and cryogenic tool and processes.
  • Provides technical support and evaluation of alternative material and processes to support supply chain needs.
  • Participate in many phases of the product development life cycle, from concept and product specification generation, to manufacturing ramp up and manufacturing production support, optimizing functionality, manufacturability, reliability, serviceability, and cost.
  • Conducts research and development investigations to develop and test new fabrication processes and procedures, improve existing or develop new processes.
  • Prepares technical reports as a result of research and development and preventive maintenance investigations.
  • Establishes engineering specifications and manufacturing procedures to guide prototype and production assembly.
  • Coordinate cross-functional design, analysis, and testing of MRI magnets.
  • Participate in product safety, cost out, cycle time reduction and quality enhancement projects.
  • Support the manufacturing plant and the Installed Base.
  • Support and comply with the quality and safety goals of GE Healthcare (GEHC).

Required Qualifications



  • Bachelors of Engineering Degree (Any discipline) from an accredited college/university.
