\"Head of Donors & Data\"

Agency Mission

ICT SOS aims to end human trafficking through prevention and awareness education; advocacy for survivors; and acting as a bridge between direct service professionals and community members who desire to help.

Job Overview

The Development & Donor Relations Specialist strengthens ICT SOS's fundraising infrastructure by researching and writing grant proposals and funding requests, assisting the Director of Operations with grant reporting, stewarding donor relationships, and maintaining accurate records of all monetary and in-kind donations. This is a part-time (20 hours/week) position that works in close partnership with ICT SOS's Events & Community Engagement Specialist and Partnership and Communications Coordinator to form a small, tightly coordinated development and communications team. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, excellent writer who is comfortable managing multiple deadlines and donor relationships with discretion, accuracy, and warmth.

How We Collaborate

ICT SOS's development and communications work is carried out by a three-person team, each with a distinct focus:

  • Events & Community Engagement Specialist ("Head of Fun and Fundraising") — plans and executes events, secures sponsorships, and coordinates volunteers.
  • Development & Donor Relations Specialist ("Head of Donors and Data") — writes grant proposals and funding requests, stewards donors, and manages the donor CRM.
  • Partnership and Communications Coordinator ("Head of Content and Community") — provides administrative support and manages ICT SOS's communications and social media presence.

This role's key handoffs with the rest of the team:

  • With the Events & Community Engagement Specialist: receive event revenue, sponsorship commitments, and donor or prospect engagement details promptly, so records stay accurate and stewardship follow-up happens on time.
  • With the Partnership and Communications Coordinator: coordinate donor-facing communications, such as appeal letters, year-end campaigns, and impact updates, to keep messaging and branding consistent.

Core Values & Culture Fit

ICT SOS's culture is built on five core values — Caring, Different, Enthusiastic, Fun, and Growing — which guide how we serve survivors, donors, volunteers, and one another. In addition, this role calls for the following:

Hungry, Humble & Smart (Patrick Lencioni)
  • Hungry — self-motivated to research new funding opportunities and strengthen ICT SOS's donor base, without needing to be prompted.
  • Humble — does the behind-the-scenes work of accurate records and timely stewardship without needing the spotlight, and welcomes feedback that improves systems and writing.
  • Smart — people-smart; writes and communicates in a way that resonates with funders and donors, and knows how to translate program impact into a compelling case for support.
Awkward, Brave & Kind (Brené Brown)
  • Awkward — willing to send an imperfect first draft, ask a funder a clarifying question, or learn a new CRM feature, and to keep going anyway.
  • Brave — speaks up when a deadline, process, or data gap needs attention, and takes the initiative to fix it.
  • Kind — stewards donors and handles sensitive information with genuine warmth, empathy, and discretion, especially in the emotionally weighty context of anti-trafficking work.
Working Conditions

The Development & Donor Relations Specialist works primarily in the office, with occasional exceptions for donor meetings in the community.

  • Must be able to sit for long periods while working on written materials and data entry.
  • Must be flexible with schedule to accommodate grant deadlines and occasional donor meetings.
Hours

This is a part-time position of 20 hours per week. Hours are generally flexible to meet the needs of the position, with occasional evening or weekend work required around grant deadlines, year-end giving campaigns, or donor stewardship needs.

This role has the potential to grow to full-time as grant funding, donor giving, and organizational capacity expand.
