Job summary

Defenders of Wildlife seeks a Development Coordinator to work with the SVP of Development and Directors to advance fundraising through donor outreach, stewardship, and gift processing. You will track and acknowledge gifts, prepare reports, and support donor research and pipeline development.

The role requires strong writing, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Local DC headquarters role with no travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field.
• 1 year of relevant experience; development experience preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge donor gifts promptly and accurately, including drafting letters and managing signatures.
• Maintain gift processing and donor data in the CRM with current preferences.
• Prepare Daily Gift Reports and support donor research and pipeline development.
• Coordinate departmental projects and travel arrangements for the Development team.
