Job summary

Intuit Art Museum seeks a Development Director to lead the museum’s comprehensive fundraising program in partnership with the President/CEO and the Board. The role oversees major donors, grants, memberships, and campaigns, ensuring strategic alignment with the museum’s priorities.

You will manage a development team, build donor pipelines, and steward relationships through reporting and engagement. Hybrid in Chicago with occasional evenings and events; deadline Oct. 1, 2026.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit fundraising.
  • Demonstrated success developing fundraising strategies, achieving revenue goals and managing donor relationships.
  • Experience supervising staff, leading volunteers and board committees, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, leadership and relationship-building skills; proficiency with donor database/CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Museum, arts or cultural nonprofit experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the President and CEO and Board Development Committee to establish fundraising goals and strategies that align with Intuit’s strategic priorities and inspire donor support.
  • Manages a personal portfolio of 50–75 donors and prospective donors.
  • Partners with volunteer leaders and the President and CEO to cultivate and solicit major donors and prospective donors; create and maintain written prospect strategies.
  • Serve as staff liaison to the Development Committee of the Board of Directors, supporting its work and advancing its fundraising priorities.
  • Coordinates and manages the Young Professionals Board.
  • Monitors fundraising progress against benchmarks, evaluates performance reports, and communicates progress with key partners.
  • Oversees the Development staff and budget.
  • Maintains a rigorous calendar of cultivation and stewardship, including an Impact Report and year-round donor engagement.
  • Leads the planning and implementation of special fundraising initiatives and campaigns.
  • Leads the development department’s operational infrastructure, including policies and donor database/CRM systems, and reporting.
