Job summary

The Salvation Army in NW Arkansas seeks an experienced Development Director to lead the Community Relations and Development Department and to drive comprehensive fundraising programs, major gifts, grants, and campaigns that support services across NW Arkansas.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree, 5+ years in development with major gifts success, capital campaign experience, and strong CRM and communication skills; CFRE is preferred and leadership with boards is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• 5 years’ experience in a comprehensive development program with major gifts success.
• Capital campaign experience and leadership with governance bodies preferred.
• Experience planning and evaluating fundraising strategies for short- and long-term goals.
• Significant experience with donor management systems and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, lead and supervise the NW Arkansas Area Command development department.
• Oversee Donor Services, Public Relations, Community & Corporate Relations, Grants & Capital Campaigns, and Major Gifts.
• Direct staff selection, training and supervision for daily operations.
• Develop and implement resource development strategies and donor solicitation programs.
• Monitor resources to ensure funds for facilities and programs meet community needs.
