Job summary

The American Heart Association in Little Rock, AR seeks a Development Director to drive the Sweetheart’s fundraising program with high school students and community partners. This office-based role offers a hybrid schedule and travel across Central Arkansas, providing leadership to volunteers and collaboration with schools, hospitals, and corporate partners to advance healthier lives.

Base salary with incentive up to 25% of base pay and opportunities for professional development complete the

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of fundraising, sales, or related experience.
• University or college degree or equivalent experience.
• Daily local travel up to 75% and occasional overnight trips; reliable transportation required.
• Ability to lift/move large objects as needed; heavier items may need assistance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of special event fundraising is helpful.
• Strong ability to engage philanthropic communities.

Responsibilities

• Implement the Sweetheart’s campaign to raise funds with high school students in Little Rock (Central AR) and Hot Springs.
• Recruit and engage high school sophomore women and maintain relationships with students, parents, schools, and community to promote the program.
• Recruit and manage volunteer leaders and volunteer committees.
• Engage hospitals, corporations, and community leaders to build a robust educational program; plan and run events.
• Achieve income and recruitment goals through prospecting and relationship cultivation.
• Handle event management including planning, logistics, implementation, and post-event evaluation.
• Work with Communications Director to support and promote program communications.
