Job summary

American Heart Association is seeking a Development Director to drive revenue for the Heart Challenge and related events in the Inland Empire. The role combines field work, home-based tasks, and quarterly Irvine office meetings in a hybrid arrangement.

Responsibilities include securing corporate sponsorships, building donor pipelines, recruiting leadership volunteers, and guiding engagement events. A 3-year track record in fundraising or sales and a college degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or related fields.
• University/College degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to travel locally up to 75% and some overnight trips; reliable transportation required.
• Ability to lift/move large objects; heavier items may need assistance.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Generate revenue by prospecting and securing local corporate sponsorships and individual donations.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective sponsors and donors.
• Develop and present proposals and materials to secure revenue and volunteer engagement.
• Recruit and manage executive volunteer leadership and day-of-the-event volunteers.
• Lead corporate team participation in Heart Walk and motivate fundraising.
• Plan engagement events for Cor Vitae giving society.
• Collaborate on event planning with internal and external partners.
• Support campaign communications with the Communications Director.
