Job summary

The Development Director at Akron Area YMCA provides leadership in financial development to advance the Y’s mission through annual giving, government and foundation grants, endowment bequests and gifts, and capital fundraising campaigns.

The Development Director assists in developing actively engaged volunteers and staff members who participate in fundraising efforts and who represent the YMCA as a community convener and collaborator.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred) and CFRE or equivalent (preferred).
• Five or more years of professional fundraising experience in YMCA or non-profit sectors.
• Proficient in donor databases and fundraising software; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive annual fundraising plan, including annual campaign management, grants, endowment, and capital campaigns.
• Identify, cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
• Lead and supervise development staff and work with volunteers and Board to support fundraising activities.
