Job summary

Established South Florida Charitable Foundation in Broward County, Florida, seeks a Director of Development to lead fundraising and development strategy. Reporting to the President & CEO, you will expand donor engagement, secure major gifts, grants, and corporate support, and design a plan to grow the endowment from nearly $2 million to $5 million.

This is a full-time, in-office role requiring a track record in nonprofit fundraising, excellent communication, and the ability to work with a board

Qualifications

• Ten or more years in nonprofit development.
• Record of securing major gifts and grants.
• Ability to build long-term donor relationships.
• Experience with donor CRM and data-driven decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the President & CEO and board members on all major fundraising initiatives, and collaborate on the foundation’s overall financial strategy.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive development strategy spanning individual, corporate, foundation, and government funding sources.
• Own the development and execution of all grant and funding proposals, writing and archiving each with a long-term relationship-management approach.
• Research funding sources and trends to position the foundation ahead of major shifts in the philanthropic landscape.
• Maintain donor records and provide statistical analysis and regular progress reporting to the board and senior leadership.
• Design and implement a stewardship program that deepens ties with donors at every level.
• Identify, develop, and mentor development staff and volunteers as the function grows.
