Job summary

Friends Center for Children in New Haven, CT seeks a Director of Development to lead a comprehensive fundraising program advancing major gifts, annual giving, foundations, grants, capital campaigns, and donor stewardship.

This senior leadership role partners with the Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer to build fundraising infrastructure, cultivate donors, and align philanthropy with organizational growth and equity values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience required.
• Minimum of 5 years' nonprofit fundraising, advancement, or development leadership.
• Proven track record securing major gifts and foundation grants.
• Experience building and executing comprehensive fundraising plans.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead a comprehensive fundraising strategy including annual giving and major gifts.
• Cultivate and steward donor relationships and portfolios with institutional funders.
• Partner with senior leadership to align fundraising with strategic priorities.
• Oversee donor communications and fundraising analytics to inform strategy.
