Job summary

Neighborhood Music School in New Haven, CT is recruiting a Director of Development to lead growth in contributed revenue, major gifts, and capital campaigns. The role partners closely with the Executive Director, Board, and leadership to build development systems and expand donor networks.

The successful candidate will advance annual giving, cultivate diverse supporters, and help guide a transformational campaign while remaining deeply connected to NMS’s community and mission.

Qualifications

• Proven success growing contributed revenue and major gifts.
• Experience with capital or comprehensive campaigns and institutional fundraising.
• Ability to build systems and infrastructure for a development operation.
• Strong relational, collaborative, and trust-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Build infrastructure and relationships to grow contributed revenue.
• Grow individual and major giving and diversify institutional support.
• Prepare for and help lead a transformational capital campaign.
• Engage the Board and organizational leadership as active partners in philanthropy.
