Job summary

St. Coleman Catholic Parish in Pompano Beach, Florida, seeks a qualified full-time Director of Development to lead fundraising initiatives and donor engagement for both the Parish and School.

Reporting to the Pastor and with a dotted line to the Development Corporation of the Archdiocese of Miami, the role will organize development timelines, annual goals, and capital campaigns while aligning with the Archdiocese’s mission and values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in nonprofit management, business, or related field preferred.
• Professional experience in nonprofit development including donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Proficiency with donor databases/CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively with leadership, staff, volunteers, and benefactors.
• Supportive and respectful of the mission and values of the Roman Catholic Church.
• Professional demeanor, discretion, and high ethical standards required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute annual and long-term fundraising strategies, including major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, special events, and grant opportunities.
• Cultivate and steward strong relationships with current and prospective donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
• Work collaboratively with the Executive Director, Board members, and volunteers to identify, solicit, and secure philanthropic support.
• Oversee donor communications, including appeals, acknowledgments, stewardship reports, and impact materials.
• Coordinate and execute fundraising events and campaigns that raise both funds and awareness for the Parish and School.
• Manage donor database and development systems to track contributions, pledges, and stewardship activities accurately.
• Provide regular fundraising progress reports and revenue forecasts to leadership and the Board of Directors.
• Represent the Parish and School in the community to build visibility and strengthen partnerships.
