Job summary

Catholic Charities Diocese of Venice, Inc. in Naples seeks a Director of Development to lead major gift fundraising and donor stewardship efforts. The role reports to the CEO and works closely with Board and volunteers to advance Catholic Charities’ mission.

The position requires building relationships with donors, staff, and boards, plus managing a development team and programming for events and campaigns. Evening/weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of identifying, cultivating and soliciting major gifts.
• Ability to build relationships with Board, staff, volunteers and donors.
• Strong management and leadership skills; coach staff to high performance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a self-directed environment and meet targets.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan focusing on major gifts.
• Direct sponsorships for all special events and campaigns.
• Oversee marketing, public relations and communications strategies.
• Present to leadership, Board and Diocesan leadership across the community.
• Oversee donor correspondence and donor stewardship programs.
• Coordinate Board Development Committee activities and meetings.
• Supervise Development team members and evaluate performance.
• Ensure services align with mission and policies while respecting community needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of donor records.
