Job summary

Bridging for Tomorrow in Houston seeks a Director of Development to expand the donor network and secure diverse funding streams. You will lead major gifts, corporate partnerships, grants, sponsorships, and campaigns, while guiding events and donor communications.

The role partners with the CEO and CFO, coordinating with board members and staff to craft a strategic fundraising plan, grow revenue, and strengthen donor stewardship across the ministry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing or equivalent.
• 3–5+ years of proven fundraising success.
• Experience securing major gifts, sponsorships, and strategic partnerships.
• Event planning and coordination skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, public speaking, and writing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support the CEO in formulating short-term and long-term growth plans, including donor cultivation, introductions, stewardship, and fundraising opportunities.
• Perform market research to identify new revenue streams.
• Develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan with goals and measurable outcomes to build donor trust, increase retention, and secure larger gifts.
• Grow and diversify revenue through major gifts, corporate partnerships, grants, sponsorships, campaigns, events, and other philanthropic opportunities.
• Develop corporate partnership strategy and secure sponsorships for organization and fundraising events and write grants that meet fundraising goals.
• Plan annual donor events (e.g., Plant a Seed Gala) and coordinate with outside committees to promote BFT.
• Partner with CFO to source and write grant proposals and evaluation as required by funders.
• Collaborate with Communications to produce Annual Report and donor collateral.
• Represent BFT at local networking events and other venues to share our mission.
• Track expenditures and review budget performance monthly.
• Prepare status reports and maintain donor records using donor software and resources.
