Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Corps/County Development Director to lead fundraising, donor relations, and community engagement within the Muskegon area. The role focuses on designing and executing development strategies, coordinating with the divisional team, and expanding charitable giving to advance the organization’s mission.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years in public relations and fundraising, with strong leadership, communication, and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education/experience.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in public relations and fundraising.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office 365; familiarity with TEAMS and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan for the location with Corps Officer.
• Oversee donor relations including individual, corporate, and foundation giving; manage campaigns and events.
• Track donor communications, gifts, and annual fundraising reports; utilize donor management systems.
• Recruit, train and engage volunteers to support development activities and maintain a strong community presence.
• Collaborate with the Divisional Development team and Senior Director of Philanthropy on major gifts and campaigns.
