Job summary

Susan G. Komen is seeking a Development Director to lead a year-round fundraising program in the San Diego market, coordinating with regional and national teams.

The role oversees a community fundraising team, potentially with 1–2 direct reports, and drives revenue toward targets. The position focuses on the MORE THAN PINK Walk/Race and other activities, including major gifts and corporate partnerships, with travel within the service area as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5–7 years of fundraising, special events and team management experience.
• Minimum 5 years fundraising with proven ability to close $1M in revenue via sponsorships, peer-to-peer campaigns and major gifts.
• Ability to close face-to-face fundraising and sponsorships.
• Strong executive volunteer recruitment and management skills and high-level donor services.
• Excellent planning, organizational and follow-up abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a year-round fundraising program in the market, coordinating with state/regional and national fundraising teams.
• Lead the community fundraising team, potentially with 1–2 direct reports, and meet revenue targets.
• Drive execution of the MORE THAN PINK Walk/Race and other revenue-generating activities in the market area.
• Travel within the geographic service area as needed and collaborate with local stakeholders.
