Job summary

Stark County Hunger Task Force is seeking a Development Director to lead a comprehensive fundraising plan, steward supporters, and collaborate with the Executive Director to achieve financial goals. The role involves building major gifts, grants, annual campaigns, and corporate giving aligned to the hunger relief mission in Stark County.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of fundraising experience, strong communication skills, and a track record in donor cultivation

Development Director

The Development Director is responsible for spearheading a development plan and structure to generate new revenue and steward our current supporters to continue the mission and increase the sustainability of the Stark County Hunger Task Force.This position works directly with the Executive Director on achieving fundraising goals.

Key Duties

Develop and execute a strategic fundraising plan to sustain the organization’s mission to feed the hungry in Stark County which includes:

• a case for support.
• annual fund
• grants
• major/capital gifts
• special fundraising events
• planned/endowment gifts

Build a major gift program that manages and engages our current major gift donors and conducts prospect research, donor cultivation, and solicitations

Develop and execute an annual giving and planned giving program to include personalized solicitations (face-to-face, phone and appeal letters or mail solicitations)

Responsible for the planning and strategy for underwriting and corporate giving/partnership strategy as it relates to our annual events and other donor cultivation

Development Director

Prepares reports and statistical analysis with the team for meetings and other constituencies, covering donor activity and keeps track of annual budget performance on a monthly basis

Assist with strategy and donor cultivation for successful implementation of the Hunger at Home Annual Campaign

Support broader development activities to assist the staff, board and volunteers to achieve fundraising goals

Work with staff to maintain and improve web pages and communications that support online giving

Utilize CRM software to achieve fundraising goals and ensure accurate donor records; the staff responsible for data entry and gift processing

Responsible for the development, writing and reporting of all grants in collaboration with the Executive Director

Must be accessible for occasional weekend, after-hours events and donor cultivation

Point person for the annual United Way campaign
