Breakthrough Greater Boston is seeking a highly motivated Development Manager to play a critical role in advancing our fundraising program. Reporting to the Managing Director of Development, the Manager will help strengthen the systems, data, and processes that support a successful development program, while contributing to donor stewardship, prospect research, grant support, communications, and events.

Qualifications

• Two to four years of fundraising or development experience, preferably in education/nonprofit
• Strong commitment to equity and inclusion in work
• Excellent organization and project management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Effective written and verbal communication with diverse audiences
• Team player with energy, optimism, and collaborative spirit
• Flexibility for periodic Saturday and evening work
• Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, Amharic, Somali, Arabic, Bengali, Hindi, Tigrinya or Urdu is valued

Responsibilities

• Become an expert in the development database (Salesforce) and drive data quality and reporting
• Analyze and share fundraising data to inform strategy
• Serve as the primary administrator for BTGB's Salesforce development database
• Lead donor acknowledgement and ensure documentation throughout the giving cycle
• Support grant writing and reporting to foundations
• Research and identify prospects across foundations, corporations, and individuals
• Support donor outreach and communications, annual appeals, and site visits
• Coordinate events logistics in collaboration with the Director of Development – External Relations
• Assist Managing Director of Development and Executive Director with donor stewardship
• Manage receipt, processing, and deposit of donor contributions per policies and controls
• Support month-end close for development and annual audit materials
