Job summary

Job description

The Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha offers an array of activities designed to meet the unique interests and needs of young people throughout the Kenosha community. Employees at the Club exhibit passion and commitment that helps our community thrive.

The Development Coordinator supports the organization’s fundraising, donor engagement, and stewardship efforts. This position is responsible for maintaining donor records, coordinating fundraising campaigns and events, preparing donor communications, tracking gifts and grants, and providing administrative support to ensure the success of the organization’s development initiatives.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, relationship-focused, possesses a positive attitude, is discrete and confidential and is passionate about advancing the mission of the organization.

Title
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Donor Relations & Stewardship
  • Maintain accurate donor records and gift tracking in the donor database.
  • Process donations and ensure timely gift acknowledgements and tax receipts.
  • Assist with donor cultivation, stewardship, and recognition activities.
  • Prepare donor reports, mailing lists, and prospect research.
  • Support donor meetings by preparing materials, agendas, and follow-up communications.
  • Coordinate annual fundraising campaigns and special appeals.
  • Assist with sponsorship solicitations and donor outreach efforts.
  • Track fundraising progress and prepare regular reports.
  • Support grant administration by tracking deadlines, reporting requirements, and documentation.
  • Research/cold calling
Event Coordination
  • Plan and execute fundraising events, donor receptions, and community engagement activities.
  • Coordinate event logistics, registrations, sponsorship fulfillment, and volunteer support.
  • Manage event communications and post-event acknowledgments.
Administrative Support
  • In partnership with Marketing, prepare correspondence, presentations, and development materials.
  • Maintain filing systems and fundraising records.
  • Coordinate development calendars and project timelines.
  • Assist CEO with board and committee activities related to fundraising and development.
Marketing & Communications Support
  • Assist with donor newsletters, impact reports, annual reports, and social media content.
  • Help communicate organizational impact stories to donors and stakeholders.
  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging in development communications.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of fundraising, nonprofit, administrative, or related experience.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and donor database software.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with donor stewardship and fundraising events.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising principles and best practices.

Physical Requirements
