Job summary

Common Threads Farm in Bellingham, WA is hiring a Communications & Development Coordinator/Manager to advance fundraising, donor engagement, and external communications. This in-person, full-time role focuses on storytelling, campaigns, and donor relations, reporting to the Executive Director.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and able to balance strategy with hands-on execution, coordinating across staff to support campaigns, events, and program communications.

Qualifications

• Strong writing and editing skills, with ability to tailor tone for different audiences.
• Excellent organizational skills; manage multiple timelines and tasks effectively.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage projects.
• Collaborate with colleagues while exercising good judgment on when to seek input.
• Experience with digital communications tools like email platforms, social media, and basic design tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage a content calendar for external communications across newsletters, email campaigns, social media, and website updates.
• Draft donor-facing communications including thank-you letters and appeal language.
• Coordinate donor acknowledgments and stewardship touchpoints to ensure timely follow-up.
• Support donor meetings, tours, and cultivation activities, including materials preparation.
• Maintain CRM data quality and generate simple development reports for leadership.
