The Communications Coordinator supports Inspire Washington’s mission by cultivating and amplifying the organization’s community voice and media presence. The Coordinator supports the cultural ecosystem (science, heritage, arts, and humanities) by providing communication tools and programming for cultural partners. The Coordinator provides leadership in creative asset development, constituent outreach, sector education, and campaign development and execution. This role blends strategic thinking with hands‑on collaboration—bridging ideas and implementation across teams and initiatives. This new position is made possible with funding from 4Culture’s Doors Open program.
The cultural sector’s reliance on advocacy has increased post‑pandemic due to policy changes that have negatively affected cultural programming. Educating cultural businesses on government affairs and public policies has become an important aspect of our work. The Coordinator will strengthen connections between cultural organizations and the advocacy and funding systems that sustain them, at the federal, state, and local levels. This project will help Inspire Washington better support practitioners and organizations—especially small, emerging, and historically under‑resourced groups—as they navigate complex grant and policy landscapes with more confidence and clarity.
A major focus includes coordinating advocacy campaign planning and workflow design for annual programs and key initiatives. In this capacity, the Communications Coordinator serves as a trusted thought partner, project manager, and creative advisor, ensuring that content and campaigns are aligned with the organization’s mission, values, and advocacy goals.
