Job summary

NAEYC, the National Association for the Education of Young Children, seeks a Development Associate to strengthen donor relations and drive fundraising operations. You will manage donor records, support campaigns, and deliver timely stewardship, with a focus on accuracy and data-driven insights.

This role reports to the Senior Director of Development and Donor Relations and offers a path for early-career development professionals within a mission-driven nonprofit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of nonprofit development, fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit administration experience.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• High-volume data entry with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience with CRMs or donor databases is a plus; willingness to learn new systems.

Responsibilities

• Support fundraising appeals, donor communications, acknowledgements, and stewardship activities.
• Maintain donor, member, and prospect records in Salesforce or other fundraising databases.
• Generate reports, mailing lists, dashboards, and fundraising metrics.
• Conduct donor and prospect research and prepare briefing materials.
• Track donor and prospect activities across funding pipelines.
• Coordinate logistics for cultivation and stewardship events.
• Provide project and administrative support to the Development team.
