Job Title:Part-Time Development Associate

Hours:15-25 hours per week (Additional hours when traveling)

Compensation:$25-30/hour, based on experience

About Project Alive:

Project Alive is a leading 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to funding research, advocating for access to treatments, and supporting families impacted by Hunter syndrome (MPS II). We are powered by families, scientists, and supporters working together to accelerate a cure and improve quality of life for those living with this rare and devastating condition.

Position Overview:

The Development Associate will play a key role in supporting Project Alive’s fundraising efforts by helping to execute donor engagement strategies, maintain our donor database, assist with events and campaigns, and help move our mission forward. This is an ideal position for someone looking to contribute meaningfully to a growing nonprofit while gaining experience in development and fundraising. Some travel is required for conferences or events (typically 2 times per year), and there is potential for this position to grow into a full-time role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage donor data in our CRM system (e.g., Little Green Light or similar), including gift entry, acknowledgments, and reporting
• Assist with donor communications, including thank-you letters, email campaigns, and newsletter content
• Provide support for fundraising events, including our annual gala, peer-to-peer campaigns, and Giving Tuesday
• Conduct donor and prospect research
• Help maintain our sponsorship database and coordinate outreach
• Assist in organizing and maintaining fundraising collateral and grant-related materials
• Support the Executive Director with administrative tasks related to development efforts
• Participate in occasional travel to support fundraising and community events

Qualifications:

• 1–2 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, or administrative support (volunteer experience considered)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage a variety of activities and projects
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
• Familiarity with donor databases/CRMs is a plus
• Passion for rare disease advocacy or lived experience in a mission-driven community is a plus
