Our client is looking to bring on several Development Management Associates to their development team.
They are a DG Scale Solar and Storage IPP with an impressive portfolio of projects already in operations/construction in the Northeast. They are looking for strong Development Associates to drive the development of their projects in the Northeast and in MISO / PJM territories.
The Development Associate will manage project development, including land acquisition, permitting, interconnection, and regulatory compliance, for solar DG projects. The ideal candidate must be experienced in project development, with a proven track record of bringing solar projects from early-stage development through to NTP.
Key Position Responsibilities Includes
- Lead project development on multi-site portfolios
- Oversee the entire development lifecycle for solar DG projects from site identification to NTP
- Ensure all development milestones are achieved on schedule, including land acquisition, permitting, interconnection, and environmental approvals
- Review all project documentation, including title reports, surveys, and environmental assessments, to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Work closely with legal, engineering, and finance teams to ensure projects meet internal diligence requirements and external regulatory obligations
- Prepare and submit key regulatory filings, permit applications, and interconnection requests when necessary, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, local planning board, utilities, and regulatory agencies
- Provide regular reporting to your manager on project status, risks, and opportunities
- Ensure that all projects adhere to company goals, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- 2-5 years of experience in solar project development, with a focus on distributed generation or utility-scale projects and specifically looking for experience in PJM/ MISO
- Proven track record of managing projects from early-stage development to construction readiness
- Strong knowledge of regulatory, permitting, and interconnection processes, particularly in new key markets (e.g., NY, PA, MD, IL, NJ)
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including landowners, utilities, and regulatory agencies
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in renewable energy, environmental science, engineering, or related field
Position Location
- They are willing to consider candidates in the NYC area or remote candidates who are located in PJM or MISO regions.
