Description
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Development Assistant to support our fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This role is essential in helping our organization maintain strong relationships with donors, manage data accurately, and assist with communications and development-related projects.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for accurately entering and processing daily general donations.
- Support sponsorship coordination for our children’s camp, Camp Conquer, as directed.
- Assist the Grief Support Coordinator with the preparation and submission of grant applications.
- Draft and mail donor acknowledgment letters and cards in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Department to obtain mailing and email distribution lists.
- Coordinate and execute donor mailings and email campaigns.
- Generate, update, and maintain ad hoc reports and spreadsheets related to development activities.
- Maintain and update donor records in our database with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Respond to donor inquiries and assist with incoming calls related to the Development Department.
- Responsible for managinginventory and reordering of the Development Department letterhead, cards, and collateral.
- Purchase and track materials and supplies essential to the Development Department's operations
Qualifications
Education:
- High school or GED diploma; College experience is desirable.
Work Experience:
- Experience in Donor Relations preferred.
- Prior experience in a health care environment, home care, or hospice preferred.
Special Skills:
- Exhibit a competent working knowledge in the following computer software programs: Microsoft Word, Excel, and other basic Windows applications.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize efficiently and establish priorities for work.
- Ability to handle stressful and delicate situations with tact, diplomacy, attention to their importance, and understanding of the responsibility involved.
Other Requirements:
- Must have good communication skills and techniques with facilities, patients, families, office staff, and physicians.
