About Technovation

Technovation is the world’s largest technology entrepreneurship program for girls.

Our mission is to empower girls, especially those from underrepresented communities, to develop problem-solving skills, self-efficacy, and financial capacity, critical to them becoming leaders and changemakers in their communities. In the Technovation Girls program, teams of girls are supported by mentors to develop app based solutions to problems in their communities. Over the past 18 years, we have engaged 350,000 participants across 160+ countries.

With the help of The AI Forward Alliance and our global network of partners we are on a journey to make a significant impact in increasing the number of women in positions of influence, power, and leadership – especially in STEM and AI. As part of our work with TAIFA to empower and engage 25 million girls around the world over the coming years, we are collaborating with Generation Unlimited to launch a special AI Ventures Accelerator.

About this Opportunity

Technovation is seeking a contract Technical Curriculum Developer. The Technical Curriculum Developer will play a key role in the new pilot AI Ventures Accelerator program to design and develop the technical curriculum with a focus on AI in multiple senses: supporting participants to use GenAI tools as they create web or mobile apps within their business solutions, and also training machine learning models (along with dataset curation, prep, etc). The developer will also curate already-existing resources and adapt them for use within the approximately 12-week accelerator curriculum. This role will involve some work with Technovation partners to integrate feedback and materials, with the goal of creating engaging and impactful learning experiences that empower young women ages 19-24 to become AI-driven entrepreneurs. Note that any pre-existing resources used must abide by the rules of the creative commons licenses they are under.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum Design: Rapidly develop 6 units of technical curriculum, integrating pre-created resources when possible, to guide participants in AI development and use within the context of solving problems.
  • Content Creation: Create high-quality content, including modules, presentations, exercises, defined learning objectives, focused on both building and using AI tools and their applications in entrepreneurship.
  • Adaptive Learning: Design curriculum that adapts to learners from around the world with varying languages, learning styles, and knowledge levels, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all participants.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Technovation and Generation Unlimited to align the curriculum with program goals and ensure a cohesive learning experience.
  • Iteration and Improvement: Make improvements based on feedback.
Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate is passionate about Technovation’s mission to empower young women to create technology solutions for problems they identify in their community. We believe that with the right learning opportunities and support, everyone has the ability to learn and become technology creators.

We are looking for a candidate who has:

  • Expertise in AI: Significant experience working with multiple aspects of artificial intelligence such as machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, or robotics, and is comfortable using GenAI tools
  • Experience designing technical curriculum in an educational setting
  • Familiarity with effective instructional design strategies and adult learning principles, especially in diverse cultural contexts
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner, especially to a global, non-expert audience.
  • Ability to conceptualize and build content for a variety of media types and audiences
  • Commitment to supporting young women in tech and entrepreneurship.
  • Availability to get started as soon as project officially kicks off, likely in early May
