Job summary

Boys & Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic seeks a Director of Development to lead day-to-day operations, systems, and communications infrastructure for its resource development function.

This senior role partners with the CEO to translate priorities into disciplined workplans, donor engagement strategies, and measurable outcomes across individual giving, major gifts, corporate partnerships, foundations, campaigns, events, and donor communications.

Qualifications

• Experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, and donor engagement.
• Ability to build systems, workflows, and accountabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal donor-facing communications.
• Experience with donors, corporations, foundations, and campaigns.
• Proficiency with donor databases/CRM and related tech (Blackbaud/eTapestry preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day Development Department operations and annual workplans.
• Establish priorities, assignments, and accountability; lead department meetings.
• Develop SOPs for donor management, stewardship, campaigns, events, and reporting.
• Oversee development technology, donor databases, and data standards.
• Collaborate with Finance to reconcile gifts and grants.
• Drive annual contributed revenue across multiple channels.
• Maintain donor pipeline and coordinate CEO/board engagement.
• Supervise development and communications staff and partners.
• Represent organization in community and corporate partnerships.
