Job summary

Rockefeller Group is seeking an entry-level to junior accounting professional to support the accounting, budget and financial reporting for development entities. The role involves journal entries in Yardi, invoicing, loan draw processes, and monthly financial statements across multiple projects.

You will interact with development teams, ensure expenditures are properly coded, and assist auditors during annual and interim audits, while contributing to timely financial reporting and analysis.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years experience in the accounting field. Public accounting experience preferred.
• Familiar with US GAAP preferred
• Computer literacy including Excel and Word in Windows environment.
• Knowledge of Yardi accounting software preferred but not required.
• Ability to read, write and thoroughly understand and apply financial data
• Ability to present financial information to management in writing and verbally
• Writing skills are very important
• Ability to work long, irregular hours as necessary

Responsibilities

• Assists in proper coding of invoices to reflect expenditures in the correct GL accounts
• Prepares and inputs monthly journal entries into Yardi general ledger
• Processes funding and draw requests for projects with construction loans and ensures timely payments
• Tracks costs against Investment Committee approved budgets
• Prepares monthly bank reconciliations and clears reconciling items
• Assists with preparation and distribution of monthly financial reports for development companies
• Assists auditors with annual and interim audits and prepares supporting schedules
• Performs special analytical and accounting studies as assigned
• Assists in preparation of monthly financial statements (income, balance sheet, cash flow)
• Reconciles intercompany balances and JV funding/draws with project costs
