Job summary

OpenFX is seeking a Developer Experience Lead to own the developer-facing surface of our platform, from docs to integration support and API governance. You will be the first dedicated hire in this function, shaping the documentation ecosystem from ground up and ensuring accuracy as the platform evolves.

You will architect a docs-as-code workflow, define processes to keep it current, and directly support client integrations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years owning a developer-facing API product or platform. Prior success in driving adoption.
• Direct client integration work with B2B or institutional clients, diagnosing friction live.
• Strong opinions on endpoint design, parameter naming, auth UX, error formats, idempotency, SDK ergonomics.
• Engineering fluency; ability to read code and discuss distributed systems concepts.
• Experience enforcing OpenAPI workflows; contract-first governance for APIs.
• Context in financial services/fintech; familiarity with payments, trading, or banking APIs.
• Experience with agent-oriented patterns (MCP servers, agent SDKs, or similar) for DevEx.

Responsibilities

• Own API product adoption metrics and accelerate funnel from activation to first call to full usage.
• Architect and lead the docs‑as‑code infrastructure and ensure docs move adoption, not just completeness.
• Align OpenAPI spec with production reality and enforce a contract-first governance model.
• Drive developer advocacy, publish technical content, create sample apps, and contribute to events.
• Own integration triage during US business hours and build scalable onboarding playbooks.
