Job summary

DEUTZ Corporation is seeking a Shop Service Technician for our Power Center facility in West Palm Beach, FL. You will review work orders, plan repairs, pre-order parts, and perform safe, thorough diesel engine repairs on DEUTZ and non-DEUTZ equipment.

You’ll troubleshoot failures, document work orders, assist with warranty claims, and maintain a clean, organized shop while communicating clearly with customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 0–2 years of diesel engine experience.
• Proficiency with basic computer functions and portable diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Execute preventive maintenance and routine repairs on DEUTZ and non-DEUTZ products in a shop environment.
• Plan repair methods and sequences; pre-order required parts and materials.
• Perform safe, effective repairs and ensure all assigned work is completed to standard.
• Maintain professional, honest communication with customers; resolve issues promptly.
• Collaborate with the Sales & Operations Manager to uphold a clean, organized facility.
• Ensure finished equipment meets cosmetic expectations after repair.
• Return unused parts per guidelines and complete work orders and time sheets on schedule.
• Consult with the DEUTZ Service Department to confirm repair accuracy and approvals.
• Assist with warranty claim processing and customer invoicing.

What a Day Looks Like as a DEUTZ Powertrain Shop Service Technician

You start your shift on the shop floor at the DEUTZ Power Center facility, reviewing your assigned work orders for both DEUTZ and non-DEUTZ engines. You plan the repair sequence, pre-order the parts and materials you’ll need, and coordinate with Parts Specialists so everything is ready before the first wrench turns. Throughout the day, you troubleshoot failures, match each problem to a smart solution, and carry out safe, accurate, and efficient repairs.

Communication is constant: you update customers respectfully and honestly, consult with our Service Department when approvals or technical confirmation are needed, and partner with the Sales & Operations Manager to keep the facility clean, organized, and projecting a professional DEUTZ image. You complete each repair fully, confirm cosmetic appearance, return unused parts per return guidelines, and finish every job with precise documentation—work orders and time sheets submitted on time. When needed, you assist with warranty claims filing and customer invoices. And when a new challenge appears, you adapt, problem-solve, and lend a hand wherever you’re asked.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 0–2 years of diesel engine experience
• Proficiency with basic computer functions and portable diagnostic tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep familiarity with DEUTZ diesel engines
• Background diagnosing and repairing NG/CNG systems and Tier 3–4 emissions-level equipment
• Certification or formal training in heavy equipment and diesel engine repair
