Job summary

The Center for Alcohol & Drug Treatment in Duluth, MN is seeking an LPN to support our Detox & Withdrawal Management Unit. You will provide high-quality nursing care to patients with withdrawal symptoms and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Under supervision of RNs and leadership, you will intake, monitor, and medicate patients as they transition within Detox & Withdrawal Management and discharge to appropriate levels of care.

Qualifications

• Must have a certificate in nursing from a college or technical school.
• Current License for Practical Nursing (MN Board)
• CPR and First Aid certification or be certified before patient contact
• Background checks required by Minnesota DHS

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate medical and nursing care for all patients.
• Explain procedures to patients to gain cooperation and alleviate apprehension.
• Refer patients to other team members when needs exceed practical nursing
• Order necessary medical supplies and ensure proper documentation
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments following medical director instructions
• Coordinate referrals and follow up on medical referrals
• Respond to life-threatening situations per nursing standards and protocols
• Document patient history, care provided, and patient response
• Maintain patient records and compliance with regulations
