Job summary

Summa Health System – Akron City Hospital is seeking a Behavioral Health Associate for the 4E Detox Unit. The role is full-time, 36 hours per week, from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, located in Akron, OH.

You will work with the treatment team under RN supervision, monitor patient behaviors, document observations, ensure safety, and respond to crises as needed. Preferred candidates include those with direct behavioral health or medical experience and the ability to obtain Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write English, and perform basic math.
• Direct patient experience in a behavioral health and/or medical environment preferred.
• Must attain Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within one year of employment and maintain certification thereafter.
• Attain BLS-C certification during initial periods and maintain certification thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and report patient behaviors under supervision of an RN.
• Provide continuous patient care and document observations and activity.
• Assist in crisis situations and medical emergencies as needed in a behavioral health setting.
• Support patient care team with non-clinical duties as needed (environmental, dietary, transportation, supplies, light maintenance).
