Job summary

Summa Health System Akron City Hospital is seeking a Behavioral Health Associate for the 4E Detox Unit. The role involves monitoring patient behaviors under an RN, delivering continuous care, documenting observations, and maintaining safety.

It may include non-clinical tasks such as environmental and administrative duties to support the patient care team. The position requires ability to read and write English and basic math, with expectations to obtain crisis intervention and BLS-C

Qualifications

• Must attain Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within one year of employment.
• Attain BLS-C certification during initial periods and maintain certification thereafter.
• Ability to work well within a team environment and collaborate with patient care team members.
• Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and other health care professionals to assist with patient care.
• Willingness to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Must complete training for venipuncture.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and report patient behaviors as part of the multidisciplinary team.
• Provide continuous patient care and document observations and patient activity.
• Ensure safety measures are followed and respond in crisis or medical emergencies as needed.
• Assist with non-clinical patient care duties (environmental, dietary, transportation, supplies, light maintenance, administrative tasks).
