Job summary

Tulsa County's Detention Home seeks a Safety Coordinator to assist in planning, organizing and directing safety-related activities within the Juvenile Detention Home.

Responsibilities include coordinating health and safety training, ensuring regulatory compliance, and conducting inspections. A four-year degree or equivalent experience and driving qualifications are required. The role is safety-sensitive and requires readiness for shift coverage and detailed reporting.

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university; two years of related work in social work or detention; or any equivalent combination.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents and communicate clearly.
• Proficiency with computers and data collection.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement health and safety training.
• On-call 24/7 for safety and security within the detention facility.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, detention standards, ACA and PREA.
• Prepare comprehensive reports for administration review.
• Conduct inspections and maintain records for inspections and trainings.
