Job summary

Tulsa County seeks a Juvenile Detention Supervisor to oversee daily operations for a secure confinement facility, ensuring the safety and development of staff, interns, and volunteers.

The role includes reviewing forms and incident reports, directing emergency responses, and overseeing admissions and releases as needed. The position requires 21+ age and related certifications as noted by the county.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year of supervisory experience.
• Office of Juvenile Affairs Administrative Rule must be 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Assume the Unit Shift Supervisor duties in his/her absence.
• Responsible for the daily leadership of staff, interns, and volunteers.
• Responsible for reviewing, recording and maintaining all written forms, shift logs and incident reports.
• Assist in the oversight of admissions and releases, when needed.
• Report shift emergencies or events outside of normal operations to the Administrator on Call and/or Chief of Detention Operations.
• Provide direction for emergencies or staffing deficits.
• Subject to recall on a 24-hour basis.
• Ensure resident discipline and room confinement are consistent with facility policy and procedure.
• Conduct record checks, admissions, releases, and query to Jolts system.
• Assist in gathering documentation for oversight standards compliance of regulatory agency requirements or compliance entities.
• Assist in formal orientation training of new staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
