Job summary

The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Deputy Sheriff Trainee (Adult Detention) who will attend the CORE academy at the Stanislaus County Regional Training Center. Trainee duties include escorting, registering, supervising and caring for incarcerated persons across SDC-East/West, Minimum Housing Unit, and REACT Center.

This is an extra-help/part-time position working 40 hours per week during training.

Qualifications

• Must be mature and emotionally stable to work in a hostile environment.
• Ability to direct and instruct groups of incarcerated persons.
• Work under a No Hostage Policy setting.

Responsibilities

• Receive, book, search, attend to and supervise incarcerated persons.
• Maintain order and discipline among incarcerated persons.
• Prepare booking slips, head-count rosters, incident reports, and other forms.
• Escort and transport incarcerated persons to and from the clinic, court, hospital, and state institutions.
• Attend CORE Academy and complete STC requirements.
