Job summary

Nassau County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Detention Deputy to monitor, control and account for inmates and visitors at the jail/detention facilities. You will supervise juveniles and work with law enforcement and public safety partners to respond professionally under pressure.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, Florida Basic Recruit Certificate, and a valid Florida driver’s license. Prior corrections or security experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Florida Basic Recruit Certificate of Corrections Compliance after training.
• Valid Florida Driver's License is required.
• Prior Corrections / Law Enforcement experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience in Security or Social Work fields is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, control and account for incarcerated inmates and civilian visitors in jail/detention facilities and supervise juveniles.
• Maintain positive interaction with coworkers, law enforcement, fire/rescue and other public safety personnel while under time pressure.
