Job summary

The Valley County Sheriff’s Office in Cascade, Idaho is recruiting a Detention Deputy to safeguard detainees in the county detention facility. This full-time position includes full employee benefits and training toward professional supervision of detainees.

Responsibilities include intake processing, housing, security checks, and safe transport of detainees. Candidates must be able to handle diverse situations, pass a background screen and a POST program within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be physically fit and able to carry and use a firearm.
• Subject to stringent background screening and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process new arrivals to the detention facility.
• Housing and supervise detainees in a safe, orderly environment.
• Conduct security checks and related activities.
• Transport and escort detainees as needed.
