Job summary

The Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Deputy Sheriff to help operate the county detention facility and participate in an eligibility roster for future openings. The role involves 12-hour shifts, daily variations in days, and duties ranging from inmate intake to security of the facility.

Applicants should be prepared to perform booking, transport, medical response, and incident reporting. Heavy emphasis on safety, confidentiality, and compliance with state and county procedures.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of local, state and federal laws applicable to detention and custody.
• Experience with booking, inmate processing and facility security is preferred.
• Ability to operate security systems and monitoring equipment.
• Capable of maintaining accurate logs and reports.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with staff, inmates, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Monitor inmate activities to ensure safety and security of facility and staff.
• Process new inmates including fingerprinting, photography, housing assignment and records.
• Maintain facility security through patrols and monitoring of doors and systems.
• Administer intake, meal distribution, medical requests, and countersign records.
• Prepare reports and testify in court when required.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers.
