Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of security procedures and regulations of the institution.
• Ability to enforce institutional rules firmly and fairly.
• Ability to supervise the activities of large groups of inmates.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the safety and security of inmates within the Detention Center.
• Controls inmates by performing routine facility checks and head counts.
• Receives inmates, searches prisoners and assists in investigations.
• Escorts and transports inmates to court and required appointments.
• Distributes medications and meals, and maintains inventory of razors.
• Prepares and distributes canteens; maintains logs and reports.
