Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; state requirements.
• 3 years’ experience handling prisoners as a LE, Corrections, Detention, or Military Police officer.
• Must be 21+ years old and hold a State Firearms License.
• Must possess a State Security Guard License and Level III retention holster.
• Completed approved training in Corrections, LE, or Military.
• Ability to work overtime and travel extensively.
• Ability to handle physical and mental stress of long shifts.
• Ability to work with computers and relevant software.

Responsibilities

• Maintains custody and control of detainees in hospital at all times.
• Follows restraint protocols per Medical Guarding Procedures.
• Ensures restraints do not interfere with medical procedures or harm detainees.
• Ensures detainees are within eyesight of the officer.
• Detainees are not allowed outside visits unless contract or court orders.
• Detainees' phone calls are restricted unless contract allows.
• Completes paperwork and reports for Transportation Supervisor.
• Maintains a duty log detailing shift events and reports unusual events.
• Ensures detainees are properly secured before leaving hospital.
• Follows all safety laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
