Job summary

Defined Fitness Inc. seeks an Accounting Associate to support daily accounting operations at our C.O.R.E Office in Albuquerque, NM. The role focuses on data entry, invoices, journal entries, and running routine financial tasks to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

The position requires a high school diploma and at least two years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, plus strong Excel and software skills. This is a full-time, non-exempt role reporting to the Accounting Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years’ experience in bookkeeping and/or accounting.
• PC literate, including Microsoft Office with an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to quickly learn software systems such as ABC, QuickBooks, and various other products.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate and swift data entries with organization.
• Independent, adaptable, and eager to take initiative on new tasks and projects.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must hold a valid NM driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Performs accounts payable transactions into accounting software system
• Prepare and post General Journal entries
• Open and distribute mail to appropriate C.O.R.E Office team members
• Maintain filing systems while accurately filing various accounting reports, vendor invoices, etc. daily
• Perform data entry for vendor transactions into accounting software system
• Make bank deposits and run other errands as needed
• Generate reports as requested by the accounting department
• Maintain office equipment and orders office supplies as needed
• Provide protection to confidential company information such as financials
• Other duties as assigned
