Job summary

Dean Dorton is seeking an AFO Accounting Operations Associate to deliver accurate transactional accounting support across multiple clients. This hourly, non-exempt role processes routine activity, prepares basic journal entries, and maintains documentation under supervision.

You will work with the AFO team to ensure timely entries, apply standard procedures, and learn client-specific systems while protecting confidential data and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in accounting or finance.
• Experience with AP/AR, bookkeeping, or data entry is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Process routine accounts receivable transactions, including invoice prep and customer record maintenance.
• Prepare and post basic recurring journal entries using approved templates and instructions.
• Support payroll-related transaction entry and other recurring accounting processes.
• Use accounting software and client systems to complete assigned work accurately.
• Identify missing information or unusual transactions and escalate as needed.
