Job summary

Willis Automotive in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Detail Manager to lead the detail department and oversee daily operations under the Executive VP of Fixed Operations. The role demands strong leadership, planning, and communication to optimize guest satisfaction across all service stages.

The position requires at least two years of related experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work evenings and Saturdays.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Leads the department in ensuring guest satisfaction is met or exceeded as measured by independent surveys.
• Plan and schedule daily production plan utilizing all available resources for inter-departmental work.
• Directs forecasting goals and objectives for the department and directs work and processes to meet them.
• Develops subordinates by identifying training needs and providing guidance; implements a cross-training program within the team to enhance performance.
• Assists in the selection and performance management processes of staff; trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors the performance of all department staff.
• Directs quality control expectations for detail department and ensures compliance within the team.
• Communicates any potential problems with vehicles to sales personnel or managers.
• Communicates work accomplishments and department objectives to director and staff on an ongoing basis; promotes a team oriented working environment.

Primary Function:

Under the direction and supervision of the Executive Vice President of Fixed Operations, this position is responsible for managing the daily operations and work flow for the department. Exercises initiative and independent judgment in the performance and required projects, duties and tasks. Performs all duties within the objectives, standards, and policies of Willis Automotive.
