The University of Miami Information Technology & Systems Department in Coral Gables, FL is seeking a full-time Desktop Support Technician to provide technical user support for desktop, network, and AV systems. This role handles ticketing, software installation, and on-site and remote assistance for faculty, staff, and students.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, configuring workstations, video conferencing support, and ensuring security policies.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification preferred but not required.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and enterprise tools.

Responsibilities

Acts as first point of contact for desktop and network issues.
Provides quality customer service to all clients in a timely manner.
Organizes and prioritizes support requests.
Monitors and closes ServiceCenter tickets.
Assists with installation and configuration of desktops, software, and peripherals.
Conducts basic troubleshooting for desktops and laptops.
Maintains inventory of hardware and licenses.
Provides on-site AV and video conferencing support for events.
Supports hybrid classroom technologies and streaming.
Collaborates with IT groups on technology initiatives.
