Summary: The Desktop Support Technician will be responsible for assisting with the support, management, and maintenance of all technology. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, hardware and software support, inventory management, network troubleshooting, and user account management. The candidate should display a high level of communication, professionalism, and desire to contribute to the growing technical demands of Retail Tech.Pay: $18 - 24.00 per hourEssential Job DutiesProvide support to office and remote users while educating them in non-technical terms.Troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues.Repair, upgrade, and install workstations, phones, monitors, etc.Create and manage user accounts for all required applications and systems.Write configuration and knowledge documents to build on standard processes and procedures.Manage all inventory.Report daily or weekly to the IT Manager with task and project updates, as needed.Communicate effectively with end users and other management.Participate in meetings for technology planning, updates, etc.With roughly 200+ end users across the country, the role requires limited travel to remote offices nearby, as well as in-office and remote-based support.Responsible for upholding and complying with information and information systems security policies and procedures, as defined by the manager of technology and security.Other duties as assigned.Competencies:Technical SkillsAdvanced knowledge of Windows operating systems, including administration and troubleshootingIntermediate level understanding of iOS and MacOS devicesBasic understanding of Linux distributions and using the terminal interfaceWorking knowledge of network devices, protocols, and servicesAdvanced knowledge of Office 365 services and applicationsWorking knowledge of computer repair and maintenanceAbility to type at least 50 wpmCritical thinkerOrganizedExcellent verbal and written communicationPersonable and professionalAbility to teach end users in non-technical termsAbility to manage tasks by priority and time constraintsInterested in details and processesTends to take notes and ask questions, displaying active engagementEducation and Experience:At least 2 years of related technical experience or Associate degree in technology related studies.At least an Associate degree in technology-related studiesValid driver’s license and dependable transportationSupervisory Accountability: The position has no supervisory responsibilities.Physical Demands (The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job). This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets.Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am – 5 pm.
