Job summary

Powers Health in Hobart, IN seeks an IT Technician II to provide advanced technical support for end-users, handling requests via phone, email, and the IT ticketing system.

The role installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots desktop hardware, software, printers, and mobile devices, and participates in hardware/software rollouts and upgrades.

You will document activities, ensure compliance with IT standards and clinical workflows, and support staff at all levels including on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Healthcare IT helpdesk experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Windows desktop OS and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and on call.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot desktops, printers and mobile devices.
• Respond to end-user requests via phone, email and ticketing system.
• Resolve Level I and II incidents per IT standards.

Job Description:

Provides advanced technical support within a healthcare environment, ensuring timely and effective resolution of end-user issues. This role responds to support requests received via phone, email, and the IT ticketing system, resolving both Level I and Level II incidents in accordance with the Powers Health Incident Management Process. The Technician II is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of desktop hardware, software, printers, mobile devices, and other end-user technologies across the organization. The role also participates in project-related activities such as hardware/software rollouts and technology upgrades while maintaining compliance with IT standards, policies, and procedures.

This position requires strong technical expertise, clear communication, and an understanding of both clinical and non-clinical workflows. The technician must maintain accurate documentation, elevate complex issues as needed, and deliver exceptional customer service to staff at all levels.

This position is located at Saint Mary’s Medical Center in Hobart, IN and Powers Health Rehab Centerin Crown Point, IN.

• Desktop support healthcare experience preferred.


• Proven ability to troubleshoot, upgrade, and support Windows desktop operating systems, Microsoft Office applications, MS Outlook, and internet-based tools.


• Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.


• Ability to repair and support hardware such as HP or Macintosh desktops and laptops preferred.


• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.


• Proven ability to work effectively with non-technical users at all organizational levels.


• Experience using an ITSM ticket management system (e.g., Cherwell, ServiceNow) preferred.


• Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification preferred.


• CompTIA A+ certification preferred.


• Able to work independently and manage time efficiently.


• Must be able to work a rotational on-call schedule.
