Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer with strong desktop app focus.
• Strong experience with Electron and deep understanding of its architecture.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks.
• Product‑driven mindset focused on robust, scalable, and user‑friendly solutions.
• Experience with native module development in C++ to extend app capabilities.
• Familiarity with macOS and/or Windows platform technologies and patterns.
• Experience with cross‑platform packaging, code signing, and distribution.
• Thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment with cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the core infrastructure and features within Claude.ai and our Electron‑based desktop app using a web stack (TypeScript, React).
• Use native code (Rust, Swift, C++) to connect Claude to macOS and Windows.
• Optimize performance, memory usage, and startup time across platforms.
• Design and build update mechanisms and deployment pipelines.
• Create monitoring tools to track app performance and user experience.
• Explore how advanced LLMs can augment users’ work on the desktop.
