Job summary

Gensler in Washington, DC seeks a Designer to blend creativity with technical and business acumen to create functionally beautiful spaces for a diverse client base. You will collaborate across interior architecture and design phases, coordinating with project teams to meet milestones and budgets.

The role requires a 3–6 year track record in commercial design, proficiency with Revit, SketchUp and AutoCAD, and a focus on sustainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture from an accredited program.
• 3-6 years of professional experience with commercial architecture & design firms; inclusive of at least 1 year of workplace (office) interior architecture and interior design projects.
• Proficient in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, 3D and other modeling software programs.
• Proficiency with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and SPEXX a plus.
• Knowledge of the design process, including FF+E, furniture systems and specifications, color and materials.
• Conceptual 3-dimensional thinking and graphic presentation skills to effectively communicate design ideas.
• Ability to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development.
• Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly.
• A quick learner with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
• Leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; ideally portfolios will include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interview.

• This role is not remote; we look forward to working with our new team member in our dynamic D.C. office.
• The estimated base salary range for this position is $65,000-$75,000, plus eligibility for bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, with final compensation contingent on relevant experience.
